The Latin American Studies Association Congress 2026

The Latin American Studies Association Congress (LASA2026 Congress) will be held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the institution. The LASA2026 Congress, which will take place in Paris, France, from May 26 to 30, 2026, at the Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel. The theme of the Congress is “Republic and Revolution.”

This Congress will focus on situating the struggles for independence, democracy, and social justice in Latin America and the Caribbean within the broader global and historical context of the Atlantic revolutions. It will explore the complex relationships between liberalism, democracy, republicanism, and colonialism.

LASA is especially interested in fostering the participation of the European academic community. As part of this initiative, they are offering a unique opportunity for collaboration with European universities, including the fast-tracked submission of up to three academic panel proposals per participating institution.
