How to apply?

The GLOBED Edition VII (2022-2024) call for scholarships is now closed. You can continue applying as a self-funding student from the 1st of March until the 2nd of May 2022 at 23:59 (CEST). The requirements and documents for this application are the same than for the Erasmus Mundus scholarships, except for the sworn declaration. Students who will not secure a scholarship will be asked if they want to be moved into the self-funding selection process on due time.

Admissions to Erasmus+ J.M.D GLOBED are centrally administered by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Qualitative assessment of the candidates is performed jointly by the four consortium universities. Before applying, please check carefully the FAQ’s section to avoid any misunderstanding.

  1. Create a UAB ID Number

    In case you already studied or applied to any study program at the UAB, you will already have a UAB ID Number. In case you don’t, please fill in the data asked at the following link.


  2. Application portal

    Select “Erasmus Mundus Master in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED)” in the Application Portal. The program will only be available on the site when the application period has started. There is no fee for applying.


  3. Details

    Fill in your personal and academic details in the relevant sections.

  4. Upload documents


    – Scan the main page of your passport. If it’s expired, remember to send the new one to as soon as it has been renewed.

    – Upload your up-to-date Europass CV. Resumes in other formats won’t be accepted.

    Bachelor’s diploma and transcript of records

    – Scan the necessary personal and academic documents and attach them to your application, in PDF format (4 MB maximum).

    – Upload a copy of your Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript of records (not the one of your Master’s degree, in case you hold one). You don’t have to legalise them for the selection process.

    – If you are in the last year of your Bachelor’s degree, only an updated copy of the transcript of records will suffice.

    English Certificate

    – Applicants need to submit an official English Certificate equal to C1. It can be TOEFL, Cambridge or IELTS (Academic).

    – For students asking for an English Language proficiency waiver or for students who will submit their English Certificate at a later stage, please use this document.


    – Check the list of countries where English is one of several official languages.



    – Students willing to apply for the Edition VII will have to write an Essay about the article proposed by the Academic Board. Further instructions can be found on the link below.


    Motivation Letter

    – For the Motivation Letter, please follow the same format and length requirements than for the Essay.

    Contact details of your recommenders

    – Please include a PDF with the contact details (name, role, organisation and email address) of two recommenders. Recommendation letters won’t be accepted. They will be only contacted if you have eventually been shortlisted.

    Erasmus Sworn Declaration

    – For Erasmus+ Scholarship applicants only: please use this sample for the declaration/s to be submitted.

    – Note that the Selection Board will check the participation of shortlisted applicants in other past or on-going Erasmus Mundus projects.


  5. Download admission

    Download a document confirming that your application has been successfully completed. You will not receive a confirmation email.

Appeal instructions for non-selected applicants

If you wish to challenge the GLOBED Selection Board Committee’s decision, you can appeal from May 13th to May 16th 2022, bringing new elements to your application. The Appeal Form can be downloaded from the following link: E7 Appeal form. This must be sent to the Consortium at the following address: Any appeal will be considered with particular attention.

By May 23rd, the GLOBED Selection Board Committee will disclose the final list of accepted students and will inform all candidates who issued an appeal letter.

Candidates of the self-funding selection process can use the same form and procedure from the moment they receive a communication from the Board, that is to say, from May 31st to June 6th 2022.
