How to apply?

GLOBED will be implemented withing the Erasmus+ framework until the year 2029, which means that students who apply along the next four intakes will have the possibility to opt for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship as well.

GLOBED Edition IX call for applications will be open from the 12th of January until the 19th of February 2024.

Students who are not selected in the first round with scholarship will be able to reapply as self-funded students. You can take a look at some suggested funding opportunities.

Admissions to the programme are centrally administered by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Qualitative assessment of the candidates is performed jointly by the four universities of the Consortium. Before applying, please check carefully the FAQ’s section to avoid any misunderstanding.

  1. Create a UAB ID Number

    In case you already studied or applied to any study program at the UAB, you will already have a UAB ID Number. In case you don’t, please fill in the data asked at the following link.

    Select “MU Erasmus Mundus in Education Policies for Global Development” in the Application Portal. The program will only be available on the site when the application period has started.

    Fill in your personal and academic details in the relevant sections.

  4. Upload documents

    Identification

    – Scan the main page of your passport. If it’s expired, remember to send the new one to info@globed.eu as soon as it has been renewed.

    – Upload your up-to-date Europass CV. Resumes in other formats won’t be accepted.

    Bachelor’s diploma and transcript of records

    – Scan the necessary personal and academic documents and attach them to your application, in PDF format (4 MB maximum).

    – Upload a copy of your Bachelor’s degree diploma and transcript of records (not the one of your Master’s degree, in case you hold one). You don’t have to legalise them for the selection process.

    – If you are in the last year of your Bachelor’s degree, only an updated copy of the transcript of records will suffice.

    English Certificate

    – Applicants need to submit an official English Certificate equal to C1. It can be TOEFL, Cambridge or IELTS (Academic).

    – For students asking for an English Language proficiency waiver or for students who will submit their English Certificate at a later stage, please use this document.

    Essay

    – All applicants will have to write an essay about a topic proposed by the Academic Board. Instructions available here.

    – For the Essay, do not exceed one page in length. References can be included on a second page, if needed.

    – Typing: Font should be Times New Roman, size 11; spacing for the main text should be 1.5.

    Motivation Letter

    – For the Motivation Letter, do not exceed one page in length.

    Contact details of your recommenders

    – Please include a PDF with the contact details (name, role, organisation and email address) of two recommenders. Recommendation letters won’t be accepted. They will be only contacted if you have eventually been shortlisted.

    – For Erasmus+ scholarship applicants only: please use this sample for the declaration/s to be submitted. Note that the Selection Board will check the participation of shortlisted applicants in other past or on-going Erasmus Mundus projects.

  5. Download admission

    Download a document confirming that your application has been successfully completed. You will not receive a confirmation email.

Appeal instructions for non-selected applicants

If you wish to challenge the GLOBED Selection Board Committee’s decision, you can appeal from 12 to 19 April for the call for Erasmus Mundus scholarships, and from 31 May to 7 June for the self-funded call, and bring new elements to your application.

The Appeal Form must be sent to the Consortium at the following address: info@globed.eu. Any appeal will be considered with particular attention.

After the appeal period, the GLOBED Selection Board Committee will disclose the final list of accepted students and will inform all candidates who had issued an appeal letter.
