Project general description
The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED) invite applications for a Fieldwork and Administrative Research Assistant within the ERC Consolidator Grant project DIGINEQ (PI: Prof. Pablo Gracia). The project examines adolescents’ digital use and socioemotional well-being across schools in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and implements a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) in secondary schools.
The successful candidate will support organisational, fieldwork, communication, and coordination tasks essential for implementing school-based research activities. Applicants must be based in Barcelona or nearby areas.
Function description
The RA will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the DIGINEQ team and will support a wide range of administrative, fieldwork, and coordination activities. Main responsibilities include:
- Contacting and following up with schools to participate in fieldwork activities.
- Managing email communication with school staff, governmental bodies, students, and families.
- Coordinating and scheduling in-person and online meetings with multiple stakeholders.
- Assisting with logistics of fieldwork across secondary schools.
- Supporting the preparation of school materials, recruitment emails, and fieldwork documentation.
- Helping organise calendars, visits, and operational procedures for the RCT.
- Providing administrative support for data collection and fieldwork reporting.
- Supporting basic research-related tasks (e.g., document preparation, organisation of survey materials).
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science or related field; Master’s degree desirable.
- Excellent command of Catalan and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Strong organisational, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive attitude to engage with schools, teachers, and students.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Basic background in social science research; familiarity with educational or school contexts is highly valued.
- Fluency in English is an asset.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team setting.
Conditions of employment
- Part-time contract: 25 hours per week (preferably between 9:00 and 15:00 h.).
- Contract duration: 1 February 2026 – 31 May 2026 (4 months).
- Gross monthly salary: € 1,240,00 (25 hours/week).
- Work location: Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED), UAB, Bellaterra (Barcelona).
- Hybrid work arrangements may be possible depending on fieldwork needs.
